One of the most common questions we get about the K5 interior kit is which version to order. The answer comes down to your seats, and specifically whether they are cooled.
The short answer
- LX-S, EX and GT-Line: order the sedan kit ($1,200).
- K5 GT: order the GT kit ($1,400).
Why the GT needs its own kit
The K5 GT comes with factory cooled (ventilated) front seats. Air moves through tiny holes in the seat surface, so a solid material would block it. The Crush GT kit uses perforated material and cooler foam to keep that airflow working, and it includes GT embroidery. Both are included automatically when you select GT in the builder.
The GT-Line is a styling package, not the performance GT. It shares the sedan seat layout, so it uses the standard kit.
How to confirm your trim
- Check the trunk badge. The performance model reads GT. The GT-Line typically has a GT-Line badge.
- Look at the engine. The K5 GT uses the 2.5L turbo with roughly 290 horsepower.
- Look for cooled seat buttons. A seat ventilation button with a fan icon near the shifter is a strong hint.
- Check your window sticker or VIN. A free VIN decoder will show your exact trim.

What about heated seats and steering wheels?
Heated seats keep working with either kit because the heating elements sit below the surface. If you are adding the matching steering wheel, choose the heated version only if your K5 already has a factory heated wheel, so the feature keeps working. Frequently asked questions
Can I put the sedan kit in a GT?
We do not recommend it. The sedan kit is not perforated, so it would block airflow from the GT's factory cooled seats.
Is the GT-Line the same as the GT?
No. The GT-Line is an appearance package on the standard engine. The GT is the performance model with cooled seats and a turbocharged 2.5L engine.
Does the GT kit include embroidery?
Yes. GT embroidery is included automatically with the GT kit. Custom embroidery of names or logos is a separate $400 upgrade.
